General Objectives 

Perform basic counseling and/or educational activities for patients, families, and communities, following MSF protocols and procedures, in order to improve the health condition of the patient.  

Key Responsibilities 

• Actively promote the availability of MSF services   
• Carry out, individually or in groups, basic counseling and/or educational sessions, to patients, their families, hospital staff, and/or the community   
• Collect and report specific information related to the target group   
• Keep files and statistics updated about the counseling and/or educational activities   
• Identify the psychosocial, socio-economic, and medical needs of patients in the Dogra Hospital’s catchment area.  
• Actively promote the availability of counseling services and carry out, individual or group counseling, and basic psychosocial educational sessions, to patients, and their families (when needed), in order to alleviate their psychosocial difficulties within the project scope.    
• Participate in team meetings to share experiences and discuss special cases with the functional line manager, preserving confidentiality.   
• Take an active part in trainings, supervisions/interventions, and support the activities manager when necessary in doing sensitization for MSF staff or external partners about mental health /psychosocial issues.    
• Educate the community about the disease Cutaneous Leishmaniasis (CL).   
• Conduct health and hygiene promotion sessions for the community.
