 General Objectives

To provide treatment to Cutaneous Leishmaniasis patients according to doctors’ prescription and MSF protocols & guidelines, ensuring good quality care is always provided. 

Key Responsibilities

•  Understand& follow guidelines of the Cutaneous Leishmaniasis (CL) protocol  
• Possess understanding of and compliance with MSF infection prevention control measures. 
• Receive patient at the CL ward, prepare the patient & organize CL treatment plan as per prescription of MOH Dermatologist and in line with the MSF CL treatment guidelines. 
• Administer CL treatment of intra-muscular or intralesional injections as per medical prescription 
• Identify any drug reactions, side effects and provide basic treatment for CL patients  
• Record the results of CL treatment and side effects for patient reporting and communicate this to the supervisor. 
• provide CL wound care (varying for adult & child) and dressing as per MSF wound care protocol 
•  Ensures maintenance of injection preparation and wound care trolley and all MSF equipment/apparatus and materials used  
• Ensure the collection of correct data both medical and drugs consumptions, as re-quired/requested by the supervisor. 
• Collect medical history of new patients and complete medical files 
• Discharge the patients from the program after completion of treatment. 
• Ensure accurate record keeping of patients and drug consumptions  
• Provide first aid care in case of emergency waiting for medical team support to arrive.
