Country Representative Assistant (Advocacy Manager)

Core Tasks

-   Define, implement and coordinate MSF advocacy activities, including responsibility for drafting and updating advocacy strategies (this may require leading and coordinating several teams, project managers and third-party service providers)

-    Ensure that advocacy components are included in project and mission operational strategies as member of the Country Management Team (CMT)

-     Monitor contextual updates related to priority advocacy issues and share this information with concerned stakeholders inside the organization

-        Maintain contacts lists of relevant stakeholders, archives, and meeting minutes


Data Collection and Analysis

-     Design and/or support the implementation of data collection systems relevant to the priority advocacy files; propose improvements in the methodologies and tools used, and provide trainings to field teams as required; use field-level data in line with MSF ethical guidelines to support advocacy activities

-        As needed, provide data and discourse analysis in support of the Head of Mission to inform MSF positioning in-country (project-level and at national level), particularly in terms of operational environment (regulatory frameworks, donor/aid agreements, trade and economic developments)

Communication and Representation

-        Support networking needs by leading on or participating in representation duties in non-project locations (on delegation from the Head of Mission and/or Medical Coordinator), including with domestic civil society, professional groups (doctors/nurses associations), and local academics/universities

-     Define, draft and review advocacy messages and targeting (including communications and dissemination strategies) to raise awareness of medical-humanitarian issues across MSF projects and at national level

-        Lead discussions, trainings and briefings on the country’s medical-humanitarian context, MSF principles, international humanitarian law, medical ethics, and advocacy activities/strategies

-   Link with other MSF projects and sections in-country to develop collaborative advocacy initiatives
