  • Apply medical knowledge and skills to diagnose and prevent. Carry out outpatient consultations, prescribe the necessary treatment, and respect MSF protocols.
  • Keep the patient and/or his/her family informed about the illness and provide appropriate explanations about the treatment to follow, checking they have understood.
  • Respond to medical emergencies within the OPD and provide initial stabilization and care.
  • Assist in referrals and transfers of patients to other healthcare facilities when necessary.
  • Registration of the new antenatal patients, routine check-up of the antenatal and postnatal follow-up cases with complete documentation.         
  • Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including nurses and support staff, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Ensure ongoing training of the medical/paramedical multidisciplinary team to optimize the quality of care.
  • Participate in the collection and analysis of epidemiological data, checking its validity and informing the line manager about any problem or complication of the patients' illness, medical error and monitors the proper functioning of the department, equipment and material.
  • Ensure all MSF medical protocols are followed and implemented, checking universal precautions are followed at all times and reducing bio-hazard risks and improving infection control. Ensures professional confidentiality is respected.
