- Assessing Patients: Conduct physical assessments, monitor vital signs, and evaluate the overall health of patients.Administering Medications: Prepare and give medications, ensuring the correct dosages and routes for neonates/children of different ages.
- Performing Procedures Perform minor medical procedures, such as drawing blood or inserting IVs, NG/OG insertion, patient resuscitation .
- Provide information and guidance to parents and caregivers about medical conditions, treatments, and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including assessments, interventions, and responses to treatments in their nursing notes by following Nursing Care Plan.
- Join medical rounds to discuss patient progress and treatment plans with the MD.
- Ensure that medical supplies and equipment are available and properly maintained and organize ward system in a good manner , if not available or malfunctioning inform ward supervisor .
- Participate in ongoing education and training sessions to stay current with neonate/pediatric nursing practices and advancements in child healthcare.
- Moniter and mentoring NCP activities and procedures and give guidance to them and report to Supervisor in case of any error identify .
- Implement and maintain standard and transmission-based precautions to prevent cross-infection.
- Educate and guide parents/attendants on infection prevention measures (handwashing, use of mask, restricted contact).
- Ensure proper disinfection and sterilization of equipment and isolation rooms.
- Coordinate with infection control supervisor for surveillance and reporting of infectious diseases.
- Provide emotional support to children and their families during nursing care.
