The LHV is responsible for providing maternity & neonatal care under the direct supervision of the medical doctor / Ward Supervisor: in the Labor Room, Delivery room, and post-natal ward, and early postpartum follow up of women. The LHV is responsible for providing routine nursing care for neonates including first assessment and treatment after birth, assistance in effective neonatal resuscitation, and routine care in the maternity unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct safe delivery and provide antenatal care, postnatal care and family planning consultations, to receive and install the patient, providing them with the information required, helping in taking, monitoring and interpreting the parameters, etc.
• Conduct screening of pregnant and lactation women for malnutrition routinely, identifying those that have malnutrition and all adolescents, and starting them on nutritional support according to the PLW nutrition guidelines
